THE wait is finally over. Pradeep Kumar, a 1972 batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre and presently secretary, department of defence production under the ministry of defence will be India’s next defence secretary. He would take over from Vijay Singh, a 1970 batch MP cadre IAS who is due to superannuate on July 31, 2009. Mr Kumar will have a tenure of two years from the date of taking over the charge of the post.
babu blogger in a post dated June 20, 2009, said that Mr Kumar is “believed to be the front-runner for the post thanks to his experiences in defence department for sometime now.”

ReplyDeleteWhy ACP for PBOR is delaying in AIR FORCE.Most effected is seargeant rank in IAF as its counterpart in navy is given more grade pay i.e @3400/- in Army old ACP is on. ACP for officer rank is implimented not taken much time.But finalisation of ACP for personnel in lower rank taking too much time is this delay not delebrate.Taking more time will mean ruining of life of effcted personnel.Even equivalant civilian emplyee getting more pay and and working less and less,I request to find the fact by an indipendant inquiry. MSP should be same for all rank in fact lower rank are facing more military hardship,officer are authorised for more comfort everywhere either field or in peace,please check.than why not more MSP to lower rank.Why personnel in majority in Air Force is neglected,officer and civilian welfare policies is finalised timely.Is seargent in AF has became burden to government and Air Force.Kindly expedite ACP.
