Know Your Babu: 1975 batch IAS SV Prasad supersedes 20 officers to become Andhra chief secretary

SV Prasad, a 1975 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer, became the new chief secretary of AP on last Thursday, replacing P Ramakanth Reddy who in turn was appointed State Election Commissioner for a period of five years. Significantly, Mr Prasad, superseded about 20 senior IAS officers of the 1973, 1974 and 1975 batches to clinch the most coveted post for bureaucrats in the state.
A mechanical engineer by profession, and an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad Mr Prasad served handled many a managerial assigment in the state. Here is the man in action with the Herculean task of bringing back Andra Pradesh into normalcy after the Telangana issue flared up.
