In fact, the media report has quoted the first report by an agency created to safeguard the public interest, adding that high salary of American bureaucrats may give more ammunition to fiscal monitors who often criticize about over-paid and under-performing bureaucrats. The highest paid bureaucrat, according to the report, works for Roswell Park Cancer Institute Corporation with a cool pay package of $580,000 (or Rs 2.6 crore) per annum.

Performing Pak bureaucrats may get apartments

Pakistan government is now working on an incentives package for bureaucrats so to attract bright youths to join the civil services, President Asif Ali Zardari said, according to media reports. Pakistan president hinted at a move of constructing high-rise apartment buildings in the major cities for allotting apartments to the bureaucrats and young recruiters on a mortgage basis. He further said that young bureaucrats’ deserting the civil service to grab private jobs has become a major concern.
