Salary of each worker for this purpose will consist of Basic Pay, DA and incentive payments subject to a maximum of Rs 3500 per month. In respect of workers or officers, whose wage or salary exceed Rs 3500 per month, the calculation of payment will be made as if their salary/wage were only Rs.3500 per month.
The move will not have any impact on government exchequer as all expenditure on account of this payment will be borne by the major port trusts from their own resources without any budgetary support from the Government of India.

Cabinet Secretary KM Chandrasekhar on Friday will take stock of the progress made in all the works related to the October 3 to 14 Commonwealth Games. All senior IAS of the bureaucrats’ panel will participate in the deliberation to be held in New Delhi . In fact, Prime Minister recently gave his nod in forming a 10-member bureaucrats’ panel headed by KM Chandrasekhar to fix the problems related to the Games. The panel was designated as “empowered” which can overrule the decisions taken by Kalmadi –headed Organization Committee. (Read: Who are the officers in the bureaucrats’ panel).
