Board members of the said CPSEs, according to an officer memorandum issued by DoPT on July 12, 2012.
The incumbent director-level CVOs in Schedule 'A' CPSEs will not get those benefits. “There will be no change in the pay scale etc., of the present incumbent CVOs of Schedule ‘A’ CPSEs who are of the rank of Director in the Government of India or equivalent in their parent cadre. Such posts may continue to be operated in the existing scales till completion of the tenure of such officers,” the office memorandum said.
Schedule ‘A’ CPSEs include Coal India, Gail, Sail, NTPC, MMTC, Engineers India, ONGC, PFC, OVL, NHPC just to name a few.
The office memorandum further said, “In future, officers of the rank of Joint Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent shall only be appointed as CVO in Schedule 'A' CPSEs, officers of the level of Director in the Government of India or equivalent in Schedule 'B' CPSEs and officers of the level of Deputy Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent in Schedule 'C' CPSEs.”
Action and Appointments
a) The tenure of NK Gauri, General Manager, NAFED and OSD to minister of state for rural development Ms Agatha Sangma, has been extended beyond March 31, 2012 “in relaxation of the ten-year limit prescribed by the ACC for serving in the personal staff of Ministers”.
b) Prabhat Kumar, a 1985 batch UP cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of civil aviation for a period of two years.
c) The government has approved the proposal to re-designate the post of deputy secretary presently held by Dinesh Kumar, a 1998 batch Indian Statistical Service officer, to that of joint secretary (director level).
