Till a few years ago, the government was unwilling to pay even Rs 50,000 per month to over-qualified private executives for government's technical jobs. PM’s adviser Sam Pitroda first changed those rules, and paid consultants a decent salary. Now, the government’s willingness to pay Rs 1 lakh per month to a private consultant has indicated that it wants to woo talents.
