IPS? Or IAS by any chance? |
absorb any more new recruit as its infrastructure has got saturated. In fact, LBSNAA’s current infrastructure can’t accommodate 400 IAS in one batch.
Whereas the IPS academy has already absorbed a number of IAS for training, Delhi-based Indian Institute of Public Administration could be the next destination for IAS officers to get trained.
The Indian Express in a recent article quoted MoS personnel and PMO, V Narayanasamy saying that the Centre had facilitated LBSNAA receiving Rs 70 crore and five acres of land for expansion of facilities.
LBSNAA’s director Padamvir Singh in his official message says how the Academy prides itself for its world-class infrastructure “notwithstanding the limitations imposed by its location”. “We have one of the country’s finest libraries, the Gandhi Smriti Library with a collection of over 170,000 books and subscription to over 400 journals and periodicals. The teaching class rooms and lecture theatres are equipped with state-of-the-art teaching aids. The entire campus is wi-fi. The office functioning is completely paperless. The e-office environment provides for decisions on electronic files. Since the Academy lays great emphasis on physical well-being, we have an extremely well-equipped sports complex and riding establishment,” the director says in his message as quoted by its website.
Interesting. I like this website because its posts are both informative and interesting.
ReplyDeleteLBSNAA has stagnated. The 170 officer trainees there are being made to share a small room of 9 x 12 fts. There is hell lot of corruption and no work. Quality of training has deteriorated.
ReplyDeleteThe Ministry must intervene in the way LBSNAA is working. It is no secret that training of IAS officers is not upto the mark. Infact at LBSNAA IPS, IRS IRAS and IRTS guys are training the IAS who have little experience of the job.
DeleteIn Land plus 70 crore infrastructure for atleast 1000 persons can be created but let see whether things improve or not. It is really sad to see that in 50 years after receiving so much money in hundreds of crore LBSNAA has been able to create infrastructure for only 300 people.
If above is true (and seems to be so!) no wonder the Babus it trains contribute nothing to growth but aids politicians and others to spread corruption and ultimately become a part of it.
ReplyDeleteIf promotee IAS are getting training in National Police Academy Hyderabad than what will be new batch of IPS officers,2013.
