A to Z Bureaucrats Reshuffle: GS Sandhu out, Hasmukh Adhia in; Full List

IN THIRD mega reshuffle of bureaucrats after Modi Sarkar came to power in May this year, financial services secretary Gurdial Singh Sandhu who played a key role in recently rolled out Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, has been shifted out to a relatively insignificant post -- Chairman, National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention. In his place, 1981 batch Gujarat cadre IAS Hasmukh Adhia was brought in to finance ministry. In this A to Z reshuffle, undertaken on November 3, a number of bureaucrats were appointed in key posts while some being shunted out to oblivion. Here are the changes:

a) 1980 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS and financial services secretary Gurdial Singh Sandhu has been appointed as Chiarman, National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention under cabinet secretary in place of Prajapati Trivedi.
b) 1981 batch Gujarat cadre IAS Hasmukh Adhia has been appointed as financial services secretary.
c) MC Jauhari, 1987 batch Assam cadre IAS and joint secretary in shipping ministry, has been appointed as DDG in UIDAI.
d) Dheeraj Kumar, 1993 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in ministry of labour and employment.
e) Rajiv Arora, 1987 batch Haryana cadre IAS and joint secretary in department of commerce, has been shifted as joint secretary, NATGRID.
f) Joint secretary in environment ministry and 1989 batch Assam cadre IAS Maninder Singh has been shifted as JS to department of health research.
g) 1987 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS Ram Subhag Singh has been appointed as Managing Director of NAFED.
h) Vivek Johri, 1989 batch Haryana cadre IAS and JS in women and child development ministry, will be OSD, Procurement Policy Division in expenditure ministry.
i) 1996 batch Nagaland cadre IAS V Shashank Shekhar has been appointed as joint secretary in home ministry.
j) 1987 batch ICAS officer Dharitri Panda has been appointed as joint secretary in department of health.
k) 1984 batch Punjab cadre IFS (Indian Forest Service) and CEO of National Medicinal Plants Board, has been appointed as JS in Department of Ayush.
l) DoPT director and 1996 batch UP cadre IAS M Devaraj has been elevated to the rank of joint secretary in DoPT .
m) 1989 batch MP cadre IPS Mukesh Jain has been shifted from power ministry to department of disability affairs as joint secretary. Earlier, he was PS to the then power minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
n) 1991 batch Indian Telecom Service officer Shashi Mohan has been appointed as director in ministry of food processing industries.
o) 1984 batch IDSE officer Avinash Chandra Patel has been appointed as director in Central Information Commission, Delhi
p) 1985 batch West Bengal cadre IAS Pawan Kumar Agarwal has been shifted from Planning Commission to skill development ministry as joint secretary.
q) K Sanjay Murthy, 1989 batch Himachal cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in ministry of information and broadcasting.
r) Ms R Jaya, 1995 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of information and broadcasting.
s) Puneet Kansal, 1996 batch Sikkim cadre IAS and director in power ministry, has been appointed as joint secretary in Information and Broadcasting ministry.
t) Arun Kumar Verma, 1986 batch Gujarat cadre IFS (Indian Forest Service) has been appointed as joint secretary in power ministry.
u) Manish Kumar Gupta, 1991 batch UT cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in ministry of labour and employment.
v) Dheeraj Kumar, 1993 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in ministry of labour and employment.
w) 1994 batch Manipur-Tripura cadre IAS Rajesh Agarwal has been appointed as joint secretary in skill development ministry.
x) Ms Jyotsna Sitling, 1987 batch UK cadre IFS (Indian Forest Service), has been appointed as joint secretary in skill development ministry.
y) Barun Mitra, 1987 batch Manipur-Tripura cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in ministry of shipping.
z) B Suman, 1996 batch Kerala cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in ministry of tourism.
