THE Centre on Monday appointed 22 officers as union joint secretaries, the highlight of this round being the appointment of eight 1999 batch IAS as JS for the first time. Two PMO officers of 1999 batch — V Sheshadri of Telangana cadre and B Navnit of Tamil Nadu cadre, will now be joint secretary-ranked officers. Further, the officers of the batch are roped in for some key ministries including cabinet secretariat, petroleum and information and broadcasting. Here is the full list of 22 new joint secretaries:
1. Arun Singhal, 1987 batch UP cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in department of health and family welfare.
2. Nikunja Kishore Sundaray, 1987 batch Odisha cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises.
3. Ms Dharitri Panda, 1987 batch Indian Civil Accounts Service, has been appointed as additional FA and joint secretary in the ministry of defence (finance) on lateral shift basis.
4. Aramane Giridhar, 1988 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the cabinet secretariat.
5. Ali Raza Rizvi, 1988 batch Himachal cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in department of commerce on lateral shift basis.
6. VG Reddy, 1985 batch IRSEE officer, has been appointed as DDG, UIDAI under the ministry of electronics and Information-Technology on lateral shift basis.
7. RK Sinha, 1991 batch IDAS officer, has been appointed as additional secretary in UPSC at the rank of a joint secretary.
8. Rajit Punhani, 1991 batch Bihar cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of labour and employment on lateral shift basis.
9. Dilip Sharma, 1992 batch IRS-IT officer, has been appointed as Director General, Election Commission of India.
10. KC Samaria, 1993 batch Assam cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of minority affairs on lateral shift basis.
11. Sanjay Kumar, 1995 batch Telangana cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of housing and urban poverty alleviation.
12. Lav Agarwal, 1996 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of health and family welfare.
13. Ms Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, 1997 batch Punjab cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of minority affairs on lateral shift basis.
14. Suresh Kumar Vashist, 1998 batch Odisha cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary, in the department of food and public distribution.
15. V Sheshadri, 1999 batch Telangana cadre IAS, has been elevated to joint secretary in Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
16. B Navnit, 1999 batch Tamil Nadu cadre lAS, has been elevated as joint secretary in Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
17. Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi, 1999 batch Telangana cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in cabinet secretariat.
18. Sudhir Kumar, 1999 batch AGMUT cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of health and family welfare.
19. Ashish Chatterjee, 1999 batch Tamil Nadu cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of petroleum and natural gas.
20. Ms Anshu Sinha, 1999 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of information and broadcasting.
21. E Ramseh Kumar, 1999 batch MP cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries.
22. Navdeep Rinwa, 1999 batch UP cadre lAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of health and family welfare.
