IN A minor administrative reshuffle, the Central government on Friday appointed (or laterally shifted) eight officers as joint secretaries to various departments, the key highlight being the appointment of an Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer in the cabinet secretariat and an Indian Police Service officer in the ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation. Eight joint secretaries included 4 IAS, 1 IPS, 1 Indian Audit and Accounts Service, 1 IRS-IT and 1 IRPS. Full list here:
1. Puneet Agarwal, 1998 batch Tripura cadre IAS has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of textiles in place of Ms Sunaina Tomar, 1989 batch Gujarat cadre IAS.
2. Ms Shubha Kumar, 1985 batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the cabinet secretariat in place of Tuhin Kant Pandey, 1987 batch Odisha cadre lAS.
3. Sandeep Dave, 1987 batch Karnataka cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of expenditure on lateral shift basis from department of land resources.
4. Akhil Kumar, 1994 batch UP cadre IPS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation in place of B Rajender, 1995 batch Bihar cadre IAS.
5. M Ariz Ahammed, 1995 batch Assam cadre IAS, has been appointed as Member (Finance) at joint secretary level in Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) under the ministry of water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation on lateral shift basis from department of pharmaceuticals in place of Rajat Bhargava, 1990 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre lAS.
6. RK Singh, 1991 batch UP cadre IAS, has been appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG) (joint secretary level), in Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the ministry of electronics and information technology on lateral shift basis from department of heavy industry in place of Raj Sekhar Vundru, 1990 batch Haryana cadre IAS.
7. Dheeraj Bhatnagar, 1988 batch IRS-IT officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of investment and public asset management.
8. Anil K Gulati, 1984 batch IRPS officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the Central Agency Section of the department of legal affairs on lateral shift basis from the department of justice.
