Umesh, 26, also hails from Madurai, a prominent educational and industrial city in South Tamil Nadu. He did his schooling from Salem and college from Coimbatore. Both his parents worked in PSU banks.
Meanwhile, another IAS couple -- Ankit Kumar Singh of 2014 batch and Anjali Rajoria, 2015 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS -- was also allotted the same cadre in an order issued on Friday. Singh, 2014 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre IAS, has been transferred from Assam-Meghalaya cadre to Rajasthan cadre on grounds of marriage to Anjali Rajoria, 2015 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS. Singh, 30, hails from Uttar Pradesh. He did his B.Tech in electronics before getting into IAS, according to data available with DoPT. Anjali, 29, originally belongs to Rajasthan, and was allotted the home cadre after getting selected in IAS.
