THE government has found that it has as many as 26 vacant slots for sending its officers to Cambridge University for a programme on “Leadership and Strategic Thinking” under Domestic Funding of Foreign Training (DFFT), 2017-18. May 1, 2017. There is no upper age limit of the course though the officers should be left with at least one year of service at the commencement of the course. That means, even union secretary-ranked officers too will be able to attend the leadership course.
Six officers will be sent to attend the programme in the Cambridge University between September 18 and 23, 2017 whereas another 20 officers will be selected and sent for the same programme to be held again during October 2 to 7, 2017.
In a letter to state chief secretaries and union secretaries, the DoPT’s training division added that, for officers in the Central Staffing Scheme of DoPT, whose tenure ends during the currency of the training period, will be required to take prior approval of EO (Establishment Office) division of the DoPT.
The eligible officers need to apply or get nominated online. The online application is available in the ministry’s website persmin dot gov dot in/dfft. The last date of application is May 1, 2017 and the last date of finalization of nomination is May 10, 2017.
A user guide of facilitating to apply for training programme is made available in the online portal, according to the same DoPT letter to the union secretaries and state chief secretaries.
