THE Central government has repatriated five IAS officers of Uttar Pradesh cadre — all belonging to batches between 1989 and 1992 — after UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath wanted them back in the state. Uttar Pradesh has a shortage of about 100 IAS officers and the new state government wants some fresh senior officers back in Lucknow after many of of the officers wielding immense power and influence during the earlier regime were sidelined. Here below are the 5 IAS officers who will move from New Delhi to Lucknow:
Alok Kumar
In DoPT records, he is Alok Kumar-1, as there are three IAS officers with the same name in Uttar Pradesh.
He is a 1988 batch IAS, working as development commissioner (handlooms) at the rank of a GoI joint secretary.
Kumar, 54, originally belongs to Uttar Pradesh only.
He did his civil engineering before getting into IAS. Later, he did MBA (Finance) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
Sanjay R Bhoosreddy
He is a Telugu-speaking officer, but belongs to Maharashtra.
He is a 1989 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS, earlier posted as joint secretary in the animal husbandry department, and then as CVO under union commerce ministry.
This 54-year-old officer also heads the IAS (Central) Association, an organization that takes up the matters related to their cadre.
He did his post-graduation in commerce. He is also a qualified chartered accountant.
Prashant Trivedi
Originally belonging to Bihar, this officer did mechanical engineering before getting into IAS.
He is a 1989 batch IAS, who till a few months ago was a joint secretary in the department of food and pubic distribution.
He is 54 years old.
Shashi Prakash Goyal
Goyal hails from Uttar Pradesh and was allotted the home cadre after getting into IAS.
He is also a 1989 batch IAS. He is 50 years old.
He is a graduate in mathematics and post-graduate in computer applications.
Anurag Srivastava
This 1992 batch IAS officer belongs to Uttar Pradesh and serves in the home cadre.
He is 50 years old.
He was a civil engineer before getting into IAS.
He currently works in the ministry of AYUSH and is playing a key role in the upcoming international Yoga Divas event.
