THE Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Friday approved the appointment of 22 joint secretaries in various departments, the highlight being the return of 1989 batch IAS Govind Mohan to the department of economic affairs (DEA) after years, and the posting of an Indian Police Service officer — Anil Kumar Agarwal — in the department of industrial policy and promotion (DIPP). Here below is the full list of 23 appointments:
1. Atul Kumar Tiwari, 1990 batch Karnataka cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of rural development in place of Santosh A Mathew, 1985 batch Bihar cadre IAS.
2. Ms Anju Bhalla, a Central Secretariat Service officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of science and technology in place of Ms Anita Chauhan, also a CSS officer.
3. Ms Bharati, 1992 batch Indian Forest Service officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of power in place of Ms Jyoti Arora, 1987 batch Haryana cadre IAS.
4. Govind Mohan, 1989 batch Sikkim cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of economic affairs in place of Saurabh Garg, 1991 batch Odisha cadre IAS.
5. Lok Ranjan, 1989 batch Tripura cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of financial services by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of director (held by Mihir Kumar, 1996 batch IDAS officer) for a period of two years or till a regular joint secretary level vacancy arises.
6. Kishore B, 1993 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries in place of Dr E Ramesh Kumar, 1999 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS.
7. Ram Krishna Khandelwal, 1989 batch Bihar cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of food and public distribution in place of Prashant Trivedi, 1989 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS.
8. Kamal Datta, 1994 batch UT cadre Indian Forest Service officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of food and public distribution in place of TK Manoj Kumar, 1987 batch Kerala cadre IAS.
9. Ritesh Kumar Singh, 1996 batch Karnataka cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of environment, forest and climate change in place of Manoj Kumar Singh, 1988 batch UP cadre IAS.
10. Roshan Jaggi, 1988 batch UT cadre Indian Forest Service officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of AYUSH in place of Anurag Srivastava, 1992 batch UP cadre IAS.
11. Ravinder Goyal, 1987 batch IRTS officer, has been appointed as advisor (joint secretary level) in NITI Aayog in place of Anil Kumar Jain, 1986 batch MP cadre IAS.
12. Surendra Singh Meena, 1993 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of social justice and empowerment in place of Ms Ghazala Meenai, 1985 batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer.
13. Sanjai Singh, 1993 batch ICAS officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of defence in place of Deepak Anurag, 1988 batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer.
14. Satinder Pal Singh, 1996 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of shipping in place of Barun Mitra, 1987 batch Manipur cadre IAS.
15. Amit Kumar Ghosh, 1994 batch UP cadre IAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of road transport and highways in place of Ms Leena Nandan, 1987 batch UP cadre IAS.
16. Anil Kumar Agarwal, 1988 batch UP cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of industrial policy and promotion in place of Ms Ravneet Kaur, 1988 batch Punjab cadre IAS.
17. Vinod Kumar Jindal, 1988 batch ICoAS, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of housing and urban affairs in place of Praveen Prakash, 1994 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS.
18. Ms Archana Varma, 1995 batch Assam cadre IAS, has been appointed as additional secretary (joint secretary level) in the Central Vigilance Commission in place of Salim Haque, 1984 batch Indian Postal Service officer.
19. Sandip Mukund Pradhan, 1990 batch IRS-IT officer, has been appointed as DDG (joint secretary level) in Sports Authority of India (SAI).
20. Anil Sant, 1988 batch UP cadre IAS, presently working as joint secretary in the ministry of environment, forest and climate change, has been appointed as additional registrar general (joint secretary level).
21. Ms Chhavi Jha, 1990 batch IRAS officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of agriculture, cooperation and farmers welfare in place of Shlok Bhardwaj, 1995 batch Indian Information Service officer.
22. Rakesh Ranjan, 1992 batch Manipur cadre IAS, presently working as joint secretary in the department of higher education, has been appointed as member secretary (JS level), in National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (NPPA).
