26 IAS officers of 2000 batch empaneled as JS; “…we should promote our 1997-98 batches to Commissioner level”, appeal revenue officers

commissioners, in the backdrop of 2000 batch IAS getting empaneled as joint secretaries, adding that vacancies do exist. “@CBEC_India With 2000 batch of IAS empaneled as JS, we should promote our 1997-98 batches to Commissioner level since we have vacancies”, said the Tweet from the official account of Indian Revenue Service (GST and Customs) Association. The officers of this service administer customs, central excise and newly introduced Goods and Services Tax (GST).
In the tweet, the association alerted its parent board CBEC which comes under the department of revenue, ministry of finance. The CBEC is responsible for administering indirect taxes in India. 
Meanwhile, the government in an order issued on Wednesday announced the names of 26 IAS officers of 2000 batch as joint secretary--empaneled. The officers are:
