FIVE IAS officers, four of whom belonging to 1984 batch and one of the 1985 batch, got their promotion on Tuesday, as the competent authority approved the in-situ upgradation of the posts they held to the level of Special Secretary, with the immediate effect. The posts were upgraded temporarily. Here are the five new special secretaries:
1. Pritam Singh (1984 batch IAS): Director General, National Archives;
2. Brij Raj Sharma (1984 batch Jammu and Kashmir cadre IAS): Additional Secretary, ministry of home affairs (MHA);
3. Jaideep Govind (1984 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS): Additional Secretary, ministry of home affairs (MHA);
4. Roulkhumlein Buhril (1984 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS): Adviser and Additional Secretary, Inter-State Council Secretariat;
5. N Sivasailam (1985 batch Karnataka cadre lAS): Additional Secretary, department of telecommunications.
Meanwhile, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday approved the appointment of Rajinder Khanna, former secretary (R) and currently OSD (Neighbourhood Studies, NSCS) has been appointed as Deputy National Security Advisor, on re-employment on contract basis, according to the usual terms and conditions as admissible to Dy NSA.
Also, 2002 batch Indian Railway Store Service officer Prashant Agarwal has been appointed as director in the department of higher education.
