POST offices in India could potentially become "one stop shops" like in some developed countries, and also benefit from the e-commerce boom, President of India Ram Nath Kovind said while interacting with Indian Postal Service probationers at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. In a separate interaction with probationers of Indian Corporate Law Service, President said how the ICLS officers have a role to play in fulfilling India’s aspiration of achieving a $5 trillion GDP target by 2025 from the current $2.3 trillion. Here below are 10 things President said:

1. President says, the role of post offices and the postal network needs to be re-imagined in this age of communication technology.

2. He, however, adds that post offices exist even in remote places where banks have not yet reached; hence the Indian Postal Service officers have more responsibilities. 

3. He further mentions that the government of India has taken initiatives to link post offices with modern banking and payment systems. 

4. Post offices in India could potentially become "one stop shops" like in some developed countries, the President adds. 

5. He also hopes that the post offices could benefit from the boom in e-commerce.

6. To Indian Corporate Law Service probationers, the President says, they have responsibilities in simplifying the process of establishing and running companies and businesses.

7. The ICLS officers need to help ensure that an individual company is trustworthy and that the public retains confidence in it, the President of India says. 

8. He adds, the corporate and banking system are critical to any modern economy.

9. President further says that Indian Corporate Law Service officers have a role to play in fulfilling India’s aspirations of catapulting the GDP to $5 trillion by 2025 from the current $2.3 trillion.

10. He, however, cautions the ICLS probationers that while facilitating business, they must keep in mind the need for lawful and ethical conduct in the corporate sector.
