Ms Selvakumari Jayarajan, 2006 batch Uttar cadre IAS, has been appointed as executive director (ED) of Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC), Chennai, with an instruction that she needs to join the new assignment immediately, citing an August 2017 DoPT circular under which “an officer should join the post within three weeks from the date of issue of DoPT’s appointment order, failing which the process of debarment shall be initiated.”
Forty years old Selvakumari is from Tamil Nadu and is now posted in…
Uttar Pradesh. She did bachelor of architecture before getting into IAS. She had earlier served as the district magistrate and collector in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanshiram Nagar district, according to DoPT records.
In another development, Indian Revenue Service (IRS-IT) officer Upamanyu Basu will be the new joint secretary in the department of animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries on a deputation basis. He is a 1989 batch IRS-IT officer. He had served as Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) and also as financial adviser in University Grants Commission (UGC).
Meanwhile, another IRS-IT officer Shivaji Baban Ghode has taken voluntary retirement from the service. The competent authority has accepted his resignation. In fact, Ghode applied for voluntary retirement earlier too, but in an order issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) dated September 30, 2015, his request for retirement was not accepted. He was then posted in Mumbai.
