DURING the last couple of days, the Central government appointed at least 11 officers as directors in various ministries, the highlight being a clear domination by officers belonging to Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS). In total, as many as 10 non-IAS officers find berths as directors. Here below is the full list:
1. Trilok Chand Gupta, a 1997 batch Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer, has been appointed as director in the ministry of defence.
2. Ravi Gupta, a 1994 batch Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDSE) officer, has been appointed as director in the department of statistics and programme implementation.
3. Rajnish Kumar, a 1998 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) officer, has been appointed as director in the department of school education and literacy.
4. Renuka Mishra, a 2003 batch Indian Economic Service (IES) officer, has been appointed as director in the department of higher education.
5. Santosh Kumar Singh, a 1996 batch Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) officer, has been appointed as Additional Development Commissioner (director level) in the ministry of textile.
6. Sreekanth T, a 2004 batch AUGMUT cadre IAS and deputy secretary in the ministry of home affairs, has been re-designated as director in the ministry.
7. Kedar Prasad Burande, a 2004 batch IDES officer and deputy secretary in the ministry of defence, has been re-designated as director in the ministry.
8. Vishal Pratap Singh, a 2008 batch Indian Revenue Service (C and CE) officer, has been appointed as deputy secretary in the department of economic affairs (DEA).
9. Provash Ranjan Biswas, a 2002 batch Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) officer, has been appointed as director in the department of economic affairs (DEA).
10. Renu Yadav, a 2005 batch Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) officer, has been appointed as deputy secretary in the department of land resources.
11. Kalu Ram Meena, a 2002 batch Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) officer, has been appointed as director in the department of agriculture, cooperation and farmers welfare.
