TWO women officers — one belonging to Income-Tax and the other a defence service engineer — have been appointed in the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), an organisation under the union ministry of culture, with responsibilities of acquiring and preserving works of modern art from 1850s onward. It also organises, maintains and develops galleries for permanent display among others. Here are the two newly-appointed officers:
A) Ms Anita Rupavataram, 2003 batch Indian Revenue Service (Income-Tax) officer, has been appointed as director in National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Mumbai. The order was issued on Friday.
B) 2001 batch Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDSE) officer — Ms Nazneen Banu — was appointed as director in NGMA, Bengaluru. This order was also issued on Friday.
In another development, Mukesh Kumar Jha, 2005 batch IRS-IT officer, has been appointed as deputy secretary in the ministry of culture. He will be posted in Delhi.
Meanwhile, Ajay Prakash Sawhney, 1984 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre lAS officer and secretary in the ministry of electronics and information technology, has been entrusted the additional charge of the post of secretary, department of telecommunications, from September 29 to October 14, 2018 when incumbent secretary and 1982 batch Kerala cadre IAS Ms Aruna Sundararajan is on leave.
Also, the competent authority has approved the proposal of department of commerce for ex-post facto approval for entrustment of additional charge of the post of Chairman, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the department of commerce to Ms Anita Praveen, 1989 batch Tamil Nadu cadre lAS and joint secretary in the department of commerce for a period from July 20, 2018 to September 19, 2018.
