IN A major bureaucratic rejig, the Haryana government on Monday transferred 17 IAS officers, among others from the state civil services. Ashima Brar, 2004 batch IAS, will be the new deputy principal secretary to Haryana chief minister and also the nodal officer of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao programme. Meanwhile, the CEO of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, V Umashankar, has been appointed as additional principal secretary to CM of Haryana. Here below are the details of 11 of the appointments:
1. V Umashankar, 1993 batch IAS and Chief Executive Officer of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, Gurugram, has been transferred as additional principal secretary to chief minister. Originally belonging to Tamil Nadu, he is a polyglot, knowing English, French, German, Hindi, Marathi and Tamil languages. He was a product of IIT-Bombay before getting into IAS.
2. Rakesh Gupta, 1997 batch IAS, who has been attached with Haryana CM’s office, will be the new project director of Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associates Programme.
3. Deepti Umashankar, 1993 batch IAS and principal secretary, Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department, has been entrusted additional charge of commissioner of Ambala division. She originally belongs to Punjab.
4. Vijay Singh Dahiya, 2001 batch IAS and labour commissioner and secretary in the department of labour, has been posted as secretary to Governor.
5. TL Satyaprakash, 2002 batch IAS and Managing Director of Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, will be the new Director General, Industrial Training and Employment.
6. Sanjay Joon, 2003 batch IAS and director and special secretary of mines and geology department, has been posted as Managing Director, Haryana Medical Services Corporation Ltd.
7. Amit Kumar Agrawal, 2003 batch IAS and secretary to Governor, has been appointed as excise and taxation commissioner and special secretary, excise and taxation department. Agrawal is an MBBS-turned IAS.
8. Ashima Brar, 2004 batch IAS and excise and taxation commissioner and special secretary in the excise and taxation department, has been posted as deputy principal secretary to Haryana chief minister and also the nodal officer of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao programme.
9. Rajiv Rattan, 2008 batch IAS and director, secondary education and special secretary, school education department, will now be the special secretary, home-II department.
10. Vijay Kumar Siddappa Bhavikatti, 2011 batch IAS and director and additional secretary, development and Panchayats department, has been entrusted additional charge of director, rural development.
11. Priyanka Soni, 2012 batch IAS, will be the new commissioner, municipal corporation, Panipat.
