FIVE more IAS officers belonging to 1999 batch were on Friday empanelled as union joint secretary or joint secretary-equivalent. The officers and their cadres are mentioned below:
1. Vinay Kumar, Bihar cadre
Bihar is the home cadre for this 47-year-old IAS officer. He did MSc in physics before getting into the service. He had earlier served as the District Magistrate in East Champaran, Muzaffarpur and Saran.
2. Hareet Shukla, Gujarat cadre
Originally belonging to Uttar Pradesh, he is 42 years old. Shukla did B.Tech in textile engineering before getting into IAS. Earlier, he was collector in Banaskantha and Ahmedabad districts.
3. Hirdesh Kumar, Jammu and Kashmir cadre
Kumar, 47, is an electrical engineering-turned IAS officer. He originally belongs to Uttar Pradesh. He was the District Magistrate in the districts such as Chitrakoot, Ghazipur and Ghaziabad.
4. NBS Rajput, Odisha cadre
Rajput, 48, hails from Maharashtra. He is a BE in mechanical engineering. Between 2008 and 2016, he was in an inter-cadre deputation to Madhya Pradesh, where he had served as collector in districts like Badwani and Morena. He was also the commissioner of Gwalior.
5. Kanti Lal Dande, Andhra Pradesh cadre
Dande, 49, originally hails from Andhra Pradesh, and he is also an Andhra cadre IAS too. A graduate in agriculture, he did his post-graduation in genetics before getting into IAS. He had earlier worked as collector in districts such as Vizianagaram and Prakasam.
