Central Water Engineering Service officer, has been appointed as a deputy secretary in the ministry of defence. Also, 2005 batch Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise) officer, Pawan Kumar, has been appointed as deputy secretary in the department of economic affairs (DEA). 

Meanwhile, the government has extended the last date of application for filling up the post of Chairman (union joint secretary level) of Deendayal Port Trust (DPT) to be based in Kandla in Gujarat. This port trust comes under the ministry of shipping on a deputation basis. The chairman receives a pay of Rs 1 ,44,200 to 2,18,200 per month, at the pay level of 14.
