9 new CVOs appointed; No IAS, 6 railway officers get berths; Full List


EARLY this week (January 22 and 23), the Central Government appointed as many as nine Central Vigilance Commissioners (CVOs) in various central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) and central authorities including NHAI, Coal India Ltd, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of lndia Ltd. etc. The new CVO appointments carry two broad trends. First, surprisingly, there’s no IAS officer in the list. Second, as many as six out of nine new CVOs are from the Indian Railways. Here below is the full list:

1. Harsh Deep Srivastava, 1999 batch Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) officer, has been appointed as Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVO) of Prasar Bharati, Delhi.
2. VV Satya Sreenivas, 1995 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) officer, has been appointed as CVO of National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (NMDC), Hyderabad. He would continue to hold additional charge of CVO, Visakhapatnam Port Trust and also of CVO, Dredging Corporation of India Ltd (DCIL), Visakhapatnam. 
3. Ajay Kumar Rana, 1988 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) officer, has been appointed as CVO, Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Delhi, under the ministry of housing and urban affairs. 
4. Gulab Chandra Rai, 1992 batch Indian Trade Service (ITS) officer, has been appointed as CVO, State Trading Corporation Ltd. (STC), Delhi, an agency that comes under the department of commerce.
5. Ashish Kumar, 1989 batch Indian Postal Service (IPoS) officer, has been appointed as CVO, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of lndia Ltd. (DFCCIL), Delhi, an organisation that comes under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways.
6. Rajeev Saxena, 1995 batch Indian Railways Stores Service (IRSS) officer, has been appointed as CVO, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Delhi.
7. Sameer Rastogi, 1988 batch Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer, has been appointed as CVO, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd. (RCF), Mumbai. 
8. Saroj Kumar Sadangi, 1988 batch Indian Railways Stores Service (IRSS) officer, has been appointed as CVO, Coal India Ltd. (CIL), Kolkata.
9. Ms. Seema Sharma, 1994 batch Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, has been appointed as CVO in Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Delhi.
