Ms. Ritu Sain, 2003 batch Chhattisgarh cadre IAS, has been appointed as director in the ministry of housing and urban affairs (HUA). The DoPT order issued on March 14 also asked the state government to relieve from her duties immediately. Also, the appointment order referred an August 2005 circular which said…
an officer should join the post within three weeks from the date of issue of DoPT’s appointment order, “failing which the process of debarment from central staffing scheme shall be initiated”.
Ms Sain, 40, originally belongs to the state of Rajasthan. She did her MPhil from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on South East Asian studies before getting into IAS. She is also an LLB.
In the state, she worked as collector in the districts of Koriya and Surguja. She also served as MD of Handicrafts Development Corporation, Chhattisgarh, and then of Industrial Area Development, Chhattisgarh.
Meanwhile, in another development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Wednesday approved the extension in tenure of Dr Subir Gokaran, Executive Director (ED) (India) in International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a further period of six months beyond April 30, 2019 or until further orders.
