THE Central government on Sunday afternoon announced the appointment of nine senior officers, most of whom being at the level of union secretaries. Jammu and Kashmir cadre IAS, Braj Raj Sharma, has been appointed as the new secretary of the department of border management, Haryana cadre IAS and incidentally the author of a book on cows, Rajni Sekhri Sibal, has been appointed as the secretary of the newly-created department of fisheries. Here below are the details of 11 new appointments:
1. Braj Raj Sharma, 1984 batch Jammu and Kashmir cadre IAS and special secretary in the department of border management, has been appointed as secretary, department of border management, a department that comes under the ministry of home affairs.
2. Ruolkhumilen Buhril, 1984 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS and secretary of inter-state council secretariat, has been appointed as OSD, department of land resources under the ministry of rural development. The officer will take over the charge on April 1, 2019.
3. Sanjeev Ranjan, 1985 batch Tripura cadre IAS and chairman of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), has been appointed as the OSD in the ministry of road transport and highways. The officer will take over as secretary of the same ministry on April 1, 2019.
4. Rabindra Panwar, 1985 batch Bihar cadre IAS and special secretary and financial adviser in the ministry of home affairs (MHA), has been appointed as OSD in the ministry of women and child development. The officer will take over as the secretary of the ministry on April 1, 2019.
5. Bhupendra Singh, 1985 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS and chairman of National Authority for chemical weapons conventions under the cabinet secretariat, has been appointed as special secretary and financial adviser in the ministry of home affairs (MHA).
6. P Venkata Ramesh Babu, 1985 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS and chairman and MD of Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd, has been appointed as Director General of National Archives of India under the ministry of culture.
7. Yaduvendra Mathur, 1986 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS and additional secretary of NITI Aayog, has been appointed as special secretary in NITI Aayog by temporarily upgrading the post.
8. Rajni Sekhri Sibal, 1986 batch Haryana cadre IAS and additional secretary in the ministry of home affairs, has been appointed as secretary in the newly-created ministry of fisheries under the ministry of agriculture and farmers’ welfare.
9. Rakesh Kumar Vats, 1986 batch West Bengal cadre IAS and the additional secretary in the ministry of health and family welfare, has been appointed as Secretary General in the Medical Council of India.
10. Nagendra Nath Sinha, 1987 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS and MD of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), has been appointed as the new chairman of NHAI in the rank and pay of additional secretary. The officer will continue to hold additional charge of the post of NHIDCL’s Managing Director.
11. Dharmendra S Gangwar, 1988 batch Bihar cadre IAS and additional secretary in the ministry of culture, has been appointed as additional secretary and financial adviser of the ministry of health and family welfare.
